Position: Financial Accounting and Reporting Associate Lead

Location: Quezon City

Work set-up: Onsite

Work Schedule: Dayshift | Monday - Friday

Job Description:

The Financial Accounting and Reporting Associate Lead is responsible for overseeing financial accounting activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity of financial data, supporting management decision-making, and strengthening financial controls across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant who will also support operational finance activities, including monitoring purchase requisitions, budget utilization, and expense tracking, while coordinating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure proper financial governance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting and Reporting

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions
  • Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Review journal entries, account schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure proper account classification
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations and insights to management

Budgeting and Forecasting


  • Support the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast targets
  • Conduct budget variance analysis and identify financial risks and opportunities
  • Coordinate with department heads regarding budget submissions, revisions, and utilization
  • Assist management in evaluating financial impact of operational initiatives and projects
  • Prepare financial models, projections, and scenario analyses to support decision-making

Purchase Requisition and Expense Monitoring


  • Review and monitor purchase requisitions (PRs) to ensure completeness, proper approvals, and budget availability
  • Coordinate with Procurement and requesting departments regarding PR concerns and clarifications
  • Monitor expense requests and spending against approved budgets
  • Ensure expenses are properly supported, recorded, and aligned with company policies
  • Assist in tracking capital expenditures and operational expenses
  • Support implementation and monitoring of procurement-related financial controls

Reconciliation and Financial Controls


  • Review account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items
  • Maintain strong internal controls over accounting and financial reporting processes
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen operational efficiency and financial accuracy
  • Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for all accounting transactions
  • Support internal and external audit requirements, including preparation of schedules and supporting documents
  • Assist in implementing process improvements and accounting system enhancements

Stakeholder Coordination and Team Support


  • Coordinate with internal departments regarding financial concerns, reporting requirements, and budget matters
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting staff and junior team members
  • Assist management in financial analysis and special projects
  • Prepare presentations and reports for management meetings and business reviews
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial and operational objectives

Qualifications


  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant
  • At least 5–7 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Experience in handling purchase requisitions (PR) and budget monitoring is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls
  • Experience using ERP systems and financial reporting tools is preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis
