Job Description

About The Position

  • Prepare financial reports, analysis and audits as required, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Responsible for the month end completion of business departments as well as tax compliance activities. This includes bank reconciliations, end of month journals, balance sheet reconciliations and BAS lodgements.
  • Analyse monthly results
  • Assist with the completion of budgets and forecasts
  • Assist with the year-end external audit process
  • Enhance financial policies and systems to improve efficiency and governance
  • Work on other finance projects as required
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to support financial aspects of business operations
  • Be the first point of contact and business partner for business units on all financial matters
  • Investigate variances to budget and forecast
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs

Position Requirements

Qualifications/ licences/certificates/training

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in the relevant field
  • Professional certification required
  • Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Experience working in a multi-entity business with multiple profit centres and departments

Essential:

Experience and Technical Competencies

  • At least 5 years of experience in financial accounting or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with accounting software.
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and the ability to handle various and multiple functions simultaneously, including the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
  • Proven IT skills in Microsoft Word, databases and Excel, with the ability to learn other software systems as required.

Desirable:

  • Experiences with NetSuite and Adaptive Planning software.
  • Experience in an Australian business with working exposure to direct and indirect taxes.
  • Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Audit experience working in Big 4 or mid-tier firm.
