Your Role:
As a Financial Accountant, you will:
- Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Conduct variance analysis for profit and loss statements
- Prepare month-end and year-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Execute month-end closing procedures
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data prior to submission to senior accountants
- Maintain and manage the fixed asset register and perform fixed asset accounting
- Proactively identify reconciliation and posting issues and seek resolution
- Liaise with external auditors and support audit processes
- Engage with stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand
- Use initiative to improve processes and support team goals
What You Need:
Non-negotiables
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Minimum 3 years experience in financial accounting Australian-based experience desirable
- Proficiency in popular accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, SAP, Oracle)
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player
