Job Description

Position Summary:

The Finance Team Lead - Mutual Fund provides leadership and oversight for the team supporting Global Asset Management and its high-net-worth product lines. The role is responsible for managing day-to-day team operations, ensuring operational excellence, mitigating risk, achieving client Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Supervisor serves as the primary link between team execution, client expectations, and operational management. 

Key Responsibilities:

Team & People Leadership

  • Team Coverage Management: Oversee scheduling, time-off requests, absences, and workload redirection to ensure adequate coverage. 
  • Daily Support & Coaching: Provide guidance, hands-on support, and mentorship to team members through one-on-one discussions, instant messaging, and feedback sessions. 
  • Team Engagement: Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment through regular meetings, recognition, and professional development opportunities. 

Operational Oversight & Risk Management 

  • Workflow & Resource Management: Monitor team workload and strategically deploy resources to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks. 
  • Risk Mitigation & Approval: Review and approve high-value trades, adjustments, and restrictions to minimize errors and operational risk. 
  • Performance Monitoring: Track team performance through key metrics, including error rates, SLA adherence, and individual contributions. 

Client & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Client Liaison: Act as primary contact for internal teams regarding day-to-day operations and issue resolution. 
  • Performance Reporting: Provide updates on team performance, operational metrics, and risk trends to leadership and stakeholders. 
  • Collaboration: Support Manager and senior leadership by contributing to process improvements, system enhancements, and operational initiatives. 

Strategic Initiatives & Continuous Improvement 

  • Onboarding & Training: Lead onboarding of new team members and upskilling of existing staff, including setting expectations, providing training, and monitoring performance. 
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and quality in operational processes. 
  • Project Participation: Contribute to projects related to system enhancements, new product features, and operational improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years in a people-management or supervisory role within asset management, back-office operations, financial services, or related fields 
  • Strong understanding of financial services operations, including mutual funds, investment products, fund administration, wealth/investment management, and client account administration
  • Certification and completion of the IFIC or Canadian Securities Course is beneficial.
  • CFA designation or progress toward completion
  • Amenable to work onsite in McKinley, Taguig on a night shift schedule
