About the Role
The Finance Supervisor is responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate financial and budgetary reports, reviews and interprets financial highlights and results of the business, evaluates financial models and feasibility studies and complies with government financial requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthend closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial reports, accruals, and journal entries.
- Prepare and review the P&L, balance sheet, variance analysis, and commentaries to support management's data-driven decision-making.
- Oversee and guide the team in preparing the annual budget by validating assumptions, consolidating inputs, and aligning outputs with operational and corporate targets.
- Lead the team during external audits, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely submission of audit schedules and supporting documents.
- Lead the preparation of detailed tax reconciliations for tax audits, ensuring precise tieouts between financial records and statutory filings.
- Oversees other finance functions such as audit of disbursement, funds recon/management, financial services (preparation of budgets, monthly opex per plant/department month-end closing, books of accounts, interco recon, documentation of policies and guidelines, master data (customer, vendor, cost center, profit center) and preparation of tax return, filing and payment.
- Manage and mentor a team of four (4) Finance Analysts—three (3) handling financial reporting and one (1) responsible for tax and compliance—driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the organization's financial reporting objectives through effective leadership and performance management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a valid and active license
- At least 3 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably in financial reporting, general accounting, taxation, audit or compliance
- Experience in supervising or leading finance/accounting personnel is an advantage
- Background in multi-entity, shared services or corporate accounting environment is preferred
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and accounting principles.
- Proficient in preparing and analyzing financial statements and management reports.
- Solid understanding of taxation, regulatory compliance, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis tools).
- Experience using ERP and accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team management capabilities.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, and forecasting.
- Knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience handling external audits and coordinating with regulatory agencies.
- Background in tax planning and compliance management.
- Experience in shared services, retail, manufacturing, or multi-site operations.
- Knowledge of automation tools and process optimization techniques.
- Training or certification in finance, taxation, auditing, or leadership is an advantage.
