Job Description
About MOX
MOX builds the systems companies use to grow revenue and collect it: marketing and commerce on one side, financial and cash operations on the other, built end to end for mid-market and enterprise businesses across Southeast Asia. We use AI heavily in how we work; the judgment about what problems to solve and what is built stays with people.
The Engagement
An established Philippine manufacturer is bringing its financial reporting onto SAP S/4HANA. Our role is to facilitate this migration and by documenting and automating the process. This is an analyst role, not an accounting role, for someone who can read a close. You work on-site with the engagement lead. MOX documents, reviews, coordinates and build solutions; the client operates, approves, posts and signs.
What you will do
Most of how the finance function works lives in a few people's heads. The job is to get it into a form the company can run on.
Uncover
- Run capture sessions with the accounting and cost accounting team on the month-end close, statutory reporting, approvals and exception handling; record and index each session within 48 hours.
- Capture the judgment layer, not just the keystrokes: which variances matter, seasonal patterns, tax positions, what is done when a figure does not reconcile.
Map
- Complete the report register: every finance report with its source workbooks, SAP transactions, dependencies, preparation time, statutory flags, and its disposition after SAP (keep, move, retire, automate).
- Complete the workflow and approval-form registers: each process with its owners, forms, transaction codes and turnaround.
- Trace report figures to their source transactions in SAP; log what does not reconcile and why.
- Draw the process flows for the to-be close (Mermaid or draw.io).
Facilitate
- Stand up and run the Confluence workspace (structure, ownership, house rules) and the Jira project (workflows, issue types, ageing report); have the client's team working in both by handover.
- Keep the open-items and open-decisions tracker: owner and date per item, chased weekly.
- Coordinate the parallel run: keep the run-log for each close cycle and the comparison log between the old and new results, with explanations captured from the consultants.
- Schedule sessions, track deliverables and route documents for sign-off across every workstream.
Create
- Write the to-be SAP close runbook and the live close checklist, and get each document signed by its owner on the client side.
- Build the finance calendar: every close date and statutory deadline with a name against it.
- Assemble the evidence packs the client uses to decide when the old spreadsheet processes are retired.
- Prepare training materials and log observed performance across three rounds of user training.
- Keep the manual-work pain log and turn it into a ranked automation list, priced in hours saved per month; build the simple ones.
Keep
- Measure: baseline the close and cash metrics in month one, publish a monthly scorecard, re-measure at the end.
- Hand over: documentation index, registers, calendar, open decisions and workspace administration to the incoming finance lead.
By March: finance operations documented, measured, and running on SAP.
Requirements
- Accounting depth. Either you have closed books yourself (accruals, reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory valuation, statutory schedules), or you have supported a month-end close inside an ERP as a finance process or systems analyst. Five or more years. Generalist business analysis without accounting depth does not qualify.
- ERP fluency. You can follow a document flow from a report figure through the ledger and sub-ledger to the originating transaction, in any ERP. SAP FI or CO preferred.
- Documentation. You have written SOPs or work instructions with steps, owners, controls and exceptions that someone else followed without you. You will show one.
- Coordination. You have run a workstream, UAT cycle or close calendar to a date: defect or issue logs, sign-offs, chasing owners, without being managed day to day.
- Tools. SAP S/4HANA, advanced Excel (lookups, pivots, reconciliations across workbooks). Confluence and Jira, or comparable, preferred. Process diagramming.
- Working style. Precise in writing, comfortable interviewing accountants and reading their spreadsheets, and able to say what you do not know.
- Location. Metro Manila; on-site in Quezon City three to four days a week, October 2026 to March 2027.
Preferred: accountancy degree or CPA · manufacturing, product costing or Material Ledger exposure · internal audit, PMO or process-improvement background.
