We are looking for a hands-on Finance & Payroll Manager to lead and build our finance function while actively managing the day-to-day accounting, payroll, compliance, and financial operations across our Australian and Philippine entities. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, improving processes, and helping shape a growing business.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management

  • Manage end-to-end payroll for employees in both Australia and the Philippines.
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll legislation, taxation, and statutory obligations in both jurisdictions.
  • Review payroll records, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions where required.

Accounting, Compliance & Intercompany

  • Perform full-cycle accounting for both the Australian and Philippine entities.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across entities.
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other statutory reports in Australia.
  • Prepare and lodge Philippine tax filings and ensure compliance with local taxation requirements.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and year-end reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with Australian and Philippine accounting, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and government agencies as required.

Financial Operations

  • Manage invoicing, billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Produce and analyse Profit & Loss (P&L) reports and other management reports.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls.

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Take ownership of building and strengthening the finance function as the business continues to grow.
  • Develop and improve finance, payroll, and compliance processes.
  • Work closely with leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead by example in a hands-on capacity while supporting the future growth of the finance team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is highly regarded but not mandatory. Candidates with extensive senior-level accounting experience will also be considered.
  • Proven experience managing finance and payroll operations across both Australia and the Philippines.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and Philippine compliance, taxation, statutory reporting, and intercompany accounting is essential.
  • Experience preparing and lodging Australian BAS and Philippine tax filings is required.
  • Extensive hands-on experience using Xero. Xero Certification is a plus but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll, and month-end processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Previous experience working within an outsourcing or offshoring environment is advantageous but not required.
