Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Finance Officer – Digital, Music, and Movies is responsible for overseeing revenue reporting, forecasting, reconciliation, financial analysis, and month-end closing activities across digital platforms, music and movie content businesses, advertising sales, subscriptions, content partnerships, licensing arrangements, and affiliate revenue streams. The role ensures accurate revenue recognition, timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the provision of actionable insights to support business performance and strategic decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Revenue Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly, and ad hoc revenue performance reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze revenue trends across digital advertising, subscriptions, content monetization, music distribution, movie licensing, content partnerships, and affiliate channels.
  • Develop and maintain revenue dashboards, scorecards, and management presentations.
  • Conduct actual versus budget and actual versus forecast analyses, identifying key drivers and revenue variances.
  • Prepare revenue share reports for business units, content creators, licensors, distributors, and partners.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support revenue growth and profitability.

2. Revenue Forecasting and Planning

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of revenue forecasts and projections for Digital, Music, and Movies businesses.
  • Coordinate with Business Units, Sales, Content, Distribution, and Operations teams to validate forecast assumptions.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and recommend revisions based on actual performance and market developments.
  • Support annual budgeting and long-range planning activities.

3. Month-End Closing and Revenue Reconciliation

  • Manage end-to-end month-end revenue closing activities.
  • Reconcile revenues from digital platforms, subscription services, advertising channels, music streaming and distribution platforms, movie licensing agreements, and partner settlements.
  • Validate revenue transactions, accruals, deferred revenues, and related accounting entries.
  • Review and resolve outstanding revenue-related items on a timely basis.
  • Ensure revenue recognition is compliant with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with Accounting and Shared Services teams to ensure accurate financial recording and reporting.

4. Financial Reporting and Revenue Share Management

  • Prepare revenue share calculations, settlements, and reports for content partners, music licensors, movie rights holders, distributors, and other stakeholders.
  • Generate supporting schedules, remittance reports, settlement summaries, and financial documentation.
  • Prepare management reports, revenue summaries, and financial analyses.
  • Maintain and continuously improve reporting templates, tools, and processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all reports and submissions.

5. Digital, Music, and Movie Revenue Management

  • Review and validate reports generated from digital platforms, music distribution systems, and movie content platforms.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to revenue reporting, collections, and settlements.
  • Coordinate with platform partners, distributors, aggregators, content licensors, and collection agencies regarding revenue settlements and reporting concerns.
  • Monitor collections and support the timely settlement of receivables.

6. Stakeholder Coordination and Business Support

  • Collaborate with Digital, Music, Movies, Content, Sales, Operations, ISG, and Finance teams to ensure complete and accurate revenue reporting.
  • Respond to revenue-related inquiries and reporting requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary finance contact for revenue reporting, reconciliations, and approvals within the assigned business units.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports and financial requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis and business insights to support operational and strategic decisions.

7. Process Improvement and Compliance

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance revenue reporting, forecasting, and reconciliation activities.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of revenue processes, controls, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, contractual obligations, and audit requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documents.
  • Participate in system enhancement and automation initiatives related to revenue management and reporting.

8. Governance and Approvals

  • Review and approve revenue-related reports, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documents within authorized limits.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of revenue submissions before distribution.
  • Maintain proper audit trails and supporting documentation for all revenue transactions and settlements.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, governance standards, and reporting requirements.

EDUCATION, LICENSE, AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy.
  2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
  3. At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, revenue accounting, financial analysis, business finance, or audit.
  4. Experience in digital media, entertainment, music, movie distribution, broadcasting, content licensing, subscription services, or advertising industries is an advantage.
  5. Experience in revenue reconciliation, forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting is preferred
