Wine Connection owns and operates the largest chain of wine retail shops and full-service wine-themed restaurants in Thailand and Singapore. We are the exclusive importer of 300+ labels of wines from around the world, craft beers, glassware and related accessories, as well as selected delicatessen products.
Since our inception in 1998, Wine Connection has steadily grown the number of wine retail shops and diversified into the full-service restaurant business by introducing the integrated retail wine shop – restaurant concept, becoming the leader in Asia with over 100 outlets to date, and counting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted finance partner to operations and commercial teams, providing insights to drive revenue growth, cost optimisation, and outlet profitability.
- Lead budgeting and financial planning processes, including scenario analysis.
- Provide timely, data-driven insights to support decision-making and improve overall business performance
Financial Analysis & Performance Management
- Deliver in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, KPI tracking, and trend identification.
- Translate financial data into actionable recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
Financial Control & Compliance
- Oversee the integrity of financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls across finance processes, including month-end close, inventory, and revenue recognition.
- Manage GST and corporate tax matters, including filings, provisions, and liaison with tax advisors to ensure compliance and optimise tax positions.
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and statutory reporting requirements.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs and growth initiatives.
- Oversee working capital management, including inventory, receivables, and payables optimisation.
- Support cash forecasting, funding requirements, and banking relationships.
External Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with external parties including auditors, tax advisors, and regulators to ensure timely and efficient execution of audit and tax processes.
- Support senior management, investors, and board reporting requirements whereneeded.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead, coach, and develop the Finance team, fostering a high-performance and accountable culture.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and finance transformationprojects
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline, with a recognised professional qualification (e.g., CA/ACCA).
- Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience, preferably with Big 4 exposure
- Prior experience in retail and/or F&B environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical and commercial mindset, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Experience in cash flow management, working capital optimisation, and financial planning.
- Proven ability to lead teams and partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with D365 ERP system and finance transformation initiatives is anadvantage.
