We are seeking a strategic, highly organized, and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead internal accounting operations, payroll execution, and corporate compliance for an established professional practice. You will work closely with Firm Principals and Directors to optimize financial processes, manage cash flow, oversee end-to-end payroll (PAYG/Superannuation), and maintain strict adherence to statutory reporting calendars.
Your Impact
Financial Administration & Management Reporting: Oversee daily bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, creditor runs, debtor collection, and fixed-fee billing; prepare monthly reporting packs, management accounts, cash flow projections, and year-end working papers.
Budgeting & GL Oversight: Reconcile general ledger accounts, lead annual budget compilations, and support Directors in setting up employee productivity templates and bank covenant tracking.
Payroll & HR Integration: Process monthly payroll for employees and Directors, ensure legislative compliance for PAYG and Superannuation, execute Payroll Tax reconciliations, manage leave entitlements, and coordinate onboarding/offboarding workflows via HR platforms.
Compliance & Risk Management: Oversee regulatory filings (including Privacy Act guidelines), manage annual Professional Indemnity Insurance renewals with brokers, and track firm registrations and professional memberships.
Operational Leadership: Adhere strictly to the Internal Finance Calendar, deliver employee productivity and timesheet reporting, and continuously streamline internal systems to drive efficiency.
What You Bring
The Experience:Proven track record in managing internal finance and payroll functions within a corporate environment; experience within an accounting or professional services firm is highly advantageous.
Software Mastery: High proficiency in MYOB AE, Xero, and Microsoft Excel. Experience with Employment Hero (HR) and Employment Innovations (Payroll) is a strong plus.
Compliance Expertise: In-depth working knowledge of Australian tax requirements, including Single Touch Payroll (STP), PAYG withholding, Superannuation, and Payroll Tax reconciliations.
Attributes & Capabilities: Strong logical and analytical thinking, acute attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills under deadline pressure, and superior written and verbal English communication.
