Job Description

The Finance Officer (Managerial Level) is responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This role supports strategic decision-making by providing high-level financial analysis and ensuring the organization's financial health. The Finance Officer manages finance staff and collaborates closely with other departments to align financial goals with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Prepare and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.
  • Manage the general ledger and ensure its integrity and accuracy.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide monthly budget performance analysis.
  • Develop financial forecasts and risk assessments to support strategic planning.
  • Advise senior management on financial planning and budgetary control measures.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
  • Coordinate audits and implement audit recommendations.
  • Manage and improve internal control systems to mitigate financial risk.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Supervise and mentor finance team members, promoting a culture of performance and accountability.
  • Set objectives and conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Support professional development through training and capacity-building initiatives.

Strategic Involvement

  • Provide financial insights to support key business decisions.
  • Participate in financial modeling, scenario planning, and investment analysis.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term financial planning.
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, CMA,CFA or Masters degree is a must).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Philippine tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Experience in the tech, transportation, or startup industries is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
