We are partnering with a marine engineering solutions group to appoint a Finance Manager to strengthen its regional finance leadership structure. The role will be responsible for overseeing financial management and reporting activities across Singapore-based operations as well as business activities in the Middle East.
The position carries broad responsibility for ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions. The incumbent will manage a finance team, support continuous improvement in financial processes, and deliver analysis that supports both operational needs and strategic planning. The role also functions as a key financial interface for regional business stakeholders and supports the organisation's international growth agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the finance function, ensuring effective coordination, development, and performance of team members
- Supervise accounting operations across multiple entities, including financial close cycles and preparation of statutory records for Singapore and Middle East businesses
- Examine financial postings and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with applicable accounting standards
- Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting obligations across relevant jurisdictions
- Oversee the external audit cycle and act as the main liaison for auditors and related queries
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of GST and other indirect tax filings
- Review tax computations and coordinate with external advisors on corporate tax matters
- Support intercompany accounting arrangements and ensure appropriate documentation for transfer pricing purposes
- Act as a finance partner to the Middle East operations, providing financial interpretation and decision support while maintaining adherence to internal controls and governance requirements
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial performance updates for the Middle East business unit and present insights to management
- Assist in tax-related reporting requirements and supporting documentation for overseas operations
- Contribute to group reporting, regulatory surveys, and other finance-related ad-hoc requirements as needed
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, or ACCA would be considered an advantage
- Multiple years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally within a multinational or regional environment
- Solid understanding of financial reporting standards such as IFRS or equivalent, along with taxation and GST requirements
- Hands-on experience managing audit processes and compliance across more than one legal entity
- Exposure to cross-border or international business environments, preferably involving the Middle East region
- Experience in supervising or leading finance teams
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) would be beneficial
- Strong analytical capability with good judgement and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders
- Comfortable working autonomously while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced setting
