Job Description

The position reports to the Senior Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis and Partners - Australia based in PPM COE in Manila and involves providing financial and commercial analysis to support decision-making for Direct Marketing Expense (DME). As the DME Manager, you will work and partner closely with Australia Customer Activation teams to monitor and track spending and add value through business partnering. 

Business Partnering:

  • Build a strong understanding and knowledge of Direct Marketing Expense (DME) to commercial partners (i.e. customer activations teams) and provide meaningful, actionable, and timely insights to the business.
  • Act as a point of contact for over-all DME budget management and resolving stakeholder enquiries and challenge assumptions built into forward financial planning
  • Partner with Sales and Commercial Excellence Teams to enhance commercial acumen and self-service capabilities in expense management and performance analysis
  • Maintain a suite of relevant and value adding reporting and governance to channel to enable transparency of budget monitoring including risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting Stakeholder adhoc commercial queries
  • Collaborate with business partners and key stakeholders on annual long range plan cycle, annual budget, monthly financial forecast, weekly trading update and monthly performance results. 

Monthly Routines:

  • Drive the month-end closing for Direct Marketing Expense including accruals, reclasses and adjustments, prepayment journals.
  • Ownership of balance sheet reconciliation for State sponsorships and Marketing activations for Direct Marketing Expense Accruals and Prepayments

Performance Management:

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience by defining efficient and effective work practices and ensuring adherence to internal service level agreements.
  • Interpret, explain and drive performance in the business through analysis and commentary on monthly financials for Direct Marketing Expense.
  • Recognize and solve complex performance hurdles through analysis and modelling.
  • Support activities and provide inputs for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Closing process (incl. review and follow-up of accruals, journals and balance sheet reconciliations)

Experience required

  • 7+ years in financial analysis/reporting, preferably in shared services or a centre of expertise and/or FMCG background, with global/regional team exposure.
  • Experience in supporting financial reporting across time zones and markets, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Strong business partnering skills with the ability to present complex financial concepts simply to build commercial awareness and understanding.
  • A track record in building and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders including cross functionally
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Competent in financial software/tools like SAP/Anaplan, with data extraction, consolidation, and reporting skills. Experience with global shared services tools is a plus.
