Job Description

As part of its international expansion, AES is looking for a Finance Manager based in Manila, Philippines.

AES specializes in the maintenance, repair, and operational support of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for airlines and airport operators. Our mission is to deliver reliable, safe and high-quality maintenance services that maximize equipment availability and operational performance across airports worldwide.

Following the launch of a major long-term contract in the Philippines, we are looking for a Finance Manager to lead the country's finance function and support the rapid development of our local operations.

Reporting directly to the Contract & Operations Manager,you will oversee all financial activities across the Philippines. You will ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, monitor business performance, manage budgeting and cash flow, and ensure compliance with local statutory and Group requirements.

You will also lead the local finance team, supervising both the Accounts Payable Accountant and the Accounts Receivable Accountant, while acting as the key financial business partner for the local management team.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all financial operations across AES activities in the Philippines.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with Group reporting requirements.
  • Ensure the reliability of financial information and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Monitor financial performance and analyse operational results.
  • Prepare management reports and financial dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Monitor budget performance and analyse variances.
  • Support operational managers in financial planning and cost control.
  • Provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Develop financial models to support business growth and investment decisions.

Accounting & Compliance

  • Supervise general accounting activities and ensure compliance with local accounting standards and AES policies.
  • Coordinate statutory reporting, tax compliance and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with local legal, fiscal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and financial institutions.
  • Maintain effective financial controls and risk management procedures.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure business continuity.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.
  • Optimize working capital through effective management of receivables, payables and inventory-related financial processes.
  • Monitor customer collections and supplier payments.
  • Ensure compliance with internal treasury procedures.

Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Lead, coach and develop the local finance team, including the Accounts Payable Accountant and the Accounts Receivable Accountant.
  • Establish objectives, conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, HR and senior management to support business performance.
  • Promote a culture of financial discipline, transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Support the implementation of new financial processes, systems and reporting tools.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Finance, Financial Controlling or Accounting, including several years in a management role.
  • Proven experience managing a complete finance function.
  • Experience supervising accounting teams.
  • Previous experience within an international or multinational environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in aviation, industrial services, engineering or technical services would be considered an advantage.

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification would be an advantage.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and management accounting.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical and business partnering skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a fast-paced international environment.

Languages

  • Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
  • Filipino/Tagalog would be considered an advantage.
