Finance Head Position (Footwear Brand)

Finance Reports To: Managing Director

About the Role

The Finance Head will be responsible for developing and overseeing the company's overall financial strategy, policies, and planning while providing financial guidance to senior management for strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

I. Strategic Financial Management

  • Develop and oversee the company's overall financial strategy, policies, and planning.
  • Provide financial guidance to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and industry benchmarks.
  • Lead long-term financial planning, including capital expenditures, investments, and funding strategies.

II. Financial Operations & Oversight

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounting, cash flow, payroll, and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and forecasts.
  • Approve major financial transactions and expenditures.
  • Maintain efficient financial processes and internal controls to safeguard company assets.

III. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, coordinating with all departments.
  • Monitor budget performance and identify variances, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare rolling forecasts and financial models to support business growth and operational decisions.

IV. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including taxes, audits, and reporting obligations.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, implementing audit recommendations where necessary.

V. Financing & Capital Management

  • Manage company liquidity, investment portfolios, and banking relationships.
  • Plan and secure financing for business operations, expansions, or projects.
  • Negotiate loan agreements, credit lines, and other financing arrangements.

VI. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting teams.
  • Establish clear performance objectives, monitor performance, and provide guidance.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth within the finance department.

VII. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights for operational and strategic decisions.
  • Support business units in cost control, financial planning, and profitability analysis.
  • Present financial reports and recommendations to the board of directors or management team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field;
  • Minimum 510 years of finance experience;
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, accounting principles, corporate finance, and regulatory compliance;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
  • Leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with high integrity and confidentiality.
