About the Role
We're looking for a Finance Executive to join Qashier's growing regional Finance team.
Reporting to our Singapore-based Finance Manager, you'll help ensure the accuracy of our financial records, maintain strong controls, and support finance operations across multiple entities.
This role is ideal for an accountant who wants more than a narrow transactional remit. You'll gain exposure to regional accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, cash and payment operations, internal controls, and finance process improvement within a fast-growing fintech company.
You'll be trusted to take ownership, investigate issues thoroughly, and help us build a more scalable and efficient Finance function.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare and post journal entries with complete supporting documentation and approvals.
- Record financial transactions, including receipts, payments, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and other General Ledger activities.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date accounting records.
- Support month-end close, including schedules, reconciliations, accruals, reclassifications, and balance-sheet review.
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding or reconciling items.
- Process payments in accordance with internal controls and approval workflows.
- Monitor daily cash positions and support cash-flow management.
- Maintain loan schedules and complete related reconciliations.
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions across entities.
- Monitor inventory movements and resolve discrepancies against supporting documents and invoices.
- Prepare financial schedules and documentation for management reporting and audit requirements.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to resolve accounting matters.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve workflows, and automate repetitive Finance processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal-control procedures.
What We're Looking For
You'll be successful in this role if you combine strong accounting fundamentals with attention to detail, sound judgement, and a genuine ownership mindset.
Core Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, General Ledger accounting, and month-end close.
- Experience preparing reconciliations, accruals, supporting schedules, and financial reports.
- Experience using an ERP or accounting system.
- Strong Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage recurring deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with regional and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and follow through on issues with minimal supervision.
You'll Stand Out If You Have
- CPA qualification.
- Experience in multi-entity or regional accounting.
- Experience in Shared Services, FinTech, SaaS, Retail, Payments, or another high-growth environment.
- Exposure to inventory accounting, revenue recognition, fixed assets, or intercompany accounting.
- Experience with systems such as Xero, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Strong Excel capability, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP or INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, and basic data analysis.
- Experience improving Finance processes, strengthening controls, or reducing manual work.
- Practical exposure to finance automation, AI tools, or digital-transformation initiatives.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 90 days, you will be expected to:
- Build a strong understanding of Qashier's accounting processes, systems, controls, and month-end timeline.
- Independently manage routine journal entries and reconciliations.
- Take ownership of assigned balance-sheet accounts, bank reconciliations, payment activities, and intercompany balances.
- Deliver accurate supporting schedules and complete assigned month-end responsibilities on time.
- Build trusted working relationships across Finance and Operations.
- Identify at least one opportunity to improve efficiency, automate a process, or strengthen financial controls.
Why Join Qashier
- Work closely with an experienced regional Finance team, including stakeholders based in Singapore.
- Gain exposure to Singapore and Malaysia entities.
- Build broader experience across accounting, controls, reconciliations, payments, cash management, and finance operations.
- Take meaningful ownership rather than simply processing assigned transactions.
- Contribute to Finance automation, process improvement, and stronger controls.
- Grow your career within a venture-backed fintech scaling across Southeast Asia.
