Job Summary
The Finance Data Analyst is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and actionable financial reporting and insights to support business decision-making. Working closely with Finance, Data & Analytics, and business stakeholders, this role develops dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions that support month-end reporting, forecasting, budgeting, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong SQL and BI reporting skills with a solid understanding of finance processes and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance finance dashboards, reports, and analytical models supporting budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting, and performance management.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and business insights.
- Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver reporting solutions.
- Investigate and resolve data quality issues, discrepancies, and reporting anomalies.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and provide actionable recommendations to support decision-making.
- Improve reporting efficiency through automation, process enhancements, and data governance practices.
- Collaborate with Data & Analytics teams to ensure consistent and scalable reporting logic.
- Document reporting methodologies, metric definitions, data mappings, and business processes.
- Support finance-related reporting, system, and data inquiries from internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Reporting Analytics, or Finance Analytics.
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying and analyzing large datasets.
- Experience building dashboards and reports using Tableau or similar BI tools.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, month-end processes, and finance controls.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in telecommunications, financial services, or other data-driven industries.
- Exposure to data preparation and transformation tools such as Alteryx, dbt, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Python or R for analytics and automation.
- Understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance.
- Experience supporting KPI frameworks, forecasting models, and executive reporting.
