Job Description

Job Summary

The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and government regulations. This role supports strategic decision-making by providing financial analysis and recommendations to management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Monitor budget utilization and analyze variances.
  • Provide financial projections and cost-control recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and government requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal control systems.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee tax filings and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Supervise payroll processing and treasury functions.
  • Manage banking relationships and cash management activities.
  • Ensure proper fund allocation and liquidity management.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide coaching and development.
  • Improve financial processes and operational efficiency.
  • Support management in financial planning and business decisions.
  • Analyze financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 5–8 years of experience in accounting or finance, with supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
