What's the Role About
The Finance Business Partner Specialist supports the FP&A department at Philippine Airlines by providing financial analysis, forecasting, and performance insights to improve cost management and profitability. Working with the Finance Business Partner Manager, the role translates data into actionable recommendations for operational and strategic decisions, while collaborating across teams to align financial performance with corporate goals.
Major Responsibilities
FP&A & Business Partnering
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making for assigned business units
- Support planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes with the FP&A team
- Prepare variance analyses and performance reports, identifying trends and recommendations
Cost Management & Optimization
- Monitor budgets and track cost-saving initiatives across business units
- Analyze cost drivers and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
- Ensure compliance with budget constraints and financial targets
Strategic & Business Support
- Assist in developing financial models, ROI analyses, and business cases
- Support evaluation of operational initiatives and capital investments
- Conduct analysis to identify process improvements and enhance performance
Risk & Compliance
- Support adherence to internal financial policies and regulatory standards
- Identify financial risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies
- Promote best practices in financial governance and controls
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports for management
- Develop presentations and reports summarizing key financial insights
- Support reporting needs for strategic and operational decision-making
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Support senior leadership during business reviews with the Finance Business Partner Manager
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with budgets and governance
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across FP&A, Finance, and business units
Who Are We Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification (CA, CPA, or CFA) is an advantage
- At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis, business partnering, or a similar role
- Experience in the airline, aviation, or transportation industry is a plus
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret large data sets and provide recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial information
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and modeling
- Effective problem-solving skills with a proactive and creative mindset
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
