Job description:
The Finance & Accounting Supervisor is in charge of overseeing the accounting and financial transactions. This includes accounts receivable, accounts payable, and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Finance & Accounting Supervisor supervises all staff in the department and must meet tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including financial statements and government remittances.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Oversee Overall Accounting and Finance Functions
- Supervise daily accounting activities, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulatory standards.
- Supervise the finance team to maintain accurate financial records and reporting.
- Evaluate and advise on accounting policies and procedures in accordance with professional and legal standards, and taxation reporting and filing requirements.
- Designs and adapts financial accounting and related systems in response to current and emerging developments.
- Evaluates tax implications, analyzes and advises on tax planning issues.
- Keeps abreast of industry standards and recommends necessary innovations and improvements.
Check and Approve Vouchers
- Review and approve payment vouchers and disbursement requests to ensure accuracy, completeness, and budget compliance.
- Validate supporting documents for transactions and events: receipts and invoices
Prepare Invoices and follow up payments:
- Verify the proforma billing of industrial and marine for accuracy and prepare a service invoice, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and aging reports to track overdue receivables.
- Communicate with clients via email or phone to follow up on overdue invoices and ensure timely payment.
Project Cost Monitoring
- Monitor and analyze budgeted vs. actual project costs, track variances, and report on financial performance for project cost control.
- Generate Financial Reports
- Prepare and submit various financial reports such as revenue summaries, project cost analyses, and overall financial performance reports, including submission to the Accounting Manager and Comptroller.
Others
- Filing of accurate and up-to-date payment & collection records.
- Prepare documents and reports for tax filings, audits, and internal reviews..
- Assist with inventory activities and year-end inventory audit.
- Perform other tasks that may be delegated.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 4-6 years of experience in finance and accounting, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
- Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
