Key Responsibilities1. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare consolidated financial statements for all retail branches
- Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports
- Monitor gross margins, operating expenses, and net profitability
- Provide insights on sales trends, shrinkage, and store performance
2. Retail Accounting Operations
- Oversee end-to-end accounting processes (AR, AP, GL, payroll)
- Ensure accurate daily sales reconciliation (POS vs. actual collections)
- Monitor cash handling, deposits, and store fund accountability
- Manage inventory accounting, including costing and stock movements
- Franchising knowledge
3. Inventory & Cost Control
- Supervise inventory valuation (FIFO/weighted average, depending on system)
- Monitor stock levels, wastage, and shrinkage
- Coordinate with operations for stock audits and cycle counts
- Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and recommend cost-saving measures
4. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare annual budgets per store and consolidated operations
- Forecast sales, expenses, and inventory requirements
- Track and analyze budget vs. actual performance per branch
- Recommend strategies to improve store profitability
5. Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with government requirements (BIR, SEC, LGU permits)
- Oversee tax filings (VAT, percentage tax, withholding taxes, income tax)
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and regulatory inspections
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants
6. Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Implement strong internal controls in cash handling, inventory, and purchasing
- Conduct periodic audits of stores and warehouse operations
- Prevent fraud, pilferage, and financial discrepancies
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs across all retail branches
7. Systems & Process Improvement
- Manage and optimize POS and accounting system integration
- Improve financial processes for efficiency and accuracy
- Lead automation initiatives for reporting and reconciliation
- Ensure data integrity across systems
8. Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise accounting staff and store finance personnel
- Train store managers on financial controls and reporting procedures
- Set KPIs and evaluate team performance
- Foster a culture of accountability and accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
- CPA
- 510 years experience in finance/accounting, with at least 3 years in retail industry
- Experience handling multi-branch or high-volume transactions
- Strong background in inventory accounting and POS systems
