The Finance and Accounting Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Chief Finance Officer and Chief Accountant in overseeing the company's financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, taxation, treasury support, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and government regulations. The role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial information while supporting strategic business decisions and maintaining strong internal controls across the Corporate Office and port operations.
1. Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Review and analyze financial reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Prepare financial schedules, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Assist in the preparation of Board and Management financial presentations.
2. General Accounting
- Supervise day-to-day accounting operations.
- Review journal entries, general ledger accounts, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
- Monitor proper recording of financial transactions.
3. Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Assist in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Monitor departmental budget utilization.
- Analyze budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Support forecasting and financial planning activities.
4. Treasury and Cash Management
- Monitor cash flow requirements and liquidity.
- Review bank reconciliations.
- Assist in cash management and fund disbursement controls.
- Coordinate with banks and financial institutions when necessary.
5. Tax Compliance
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Monitor compliance with BIR and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate tax assessments and audits.
- Assist in tax planning initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Solid experience in general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, treasury, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Experience in the logistics, shipping, port operations, infrastructure, or related industries is an advantage.
- Willing to be assigned in BGC, Taguig City.
