Finance Analyst - Budget & Reporting
(Fleet Operations)
TheFleet Budget & Reporting Specialistprovides financial governance and analytical support to the Fleet function, focusing onbudget planning, cost control, financial reporting, and reconciliationof fleetrelated expenses. The role supports the management of alarge, nationwide leased vehicle fleet, ensuring cost visibility, billing accuracy, and close coordination with Finance, Accounts Payable, and fleet partners.
This position is designed toaddress current operational and reconciliation backlogsand is suited forfinance professionals with handson experience in budgeting, financial analysis, cost control, and lease accounting, particularly in assetheavy or operational environments.
As a Fleet Budget & Reporting Specialist, you will:
Prepare and manage theannual and monthly fleet budget, covering lease rentals, repairs and maintenance, fuel, penalties, damages, and other fleetrelated costs.
Monitoractual fleet spend versus approved budgetand performvariance analysis, explaining drivers such as utilization changes, billing adjustments, or operational factors.
Validate and reconcilelessor and vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, contract compliance, and correct vehicle tagging prior to payment.
Coordinate closely withFinance / FP&A, Accounts Payable, Lease Accounting (GBS), and Fleet Operationsto resolve billing issues and clear reconciliation backlogs.
Supportmonthend closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting using finance systems (e.g., SAP).
Build, maintain, and improvefleet financial reports, trackers, and dashboards, providing clear cost visibility to stakeholders.
Participate in discussions with lessors and vendors toresolve disputed invoices and unpaid items, in coordination with the Fleet Manager.
Ensure fleet financial data and reports areaccurate, complete, and auditready.
Assist with adhoc analyses, projects, or reporting requests related to fleet financial management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degreein Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
3-5 years of relevant experiencein:
- Budgeting and financial analysis
- Cost control or OPEX management
- Accounting or reconciliation work in assetheavy environments
Working knowledge of lease accounting(e.g., IFRS 16 concepts) and leasing contracts
Experience usingSAP or similar finance systemsfor reconciliation and reporting
StrongExcel skills(budget tracking, reconciliations, data analysis)
High attention to detail and ability to work withcompliancecritical financial data
Comfortable working crossfunctionally with Finance, Operations, and external partners
Strong communication skills to explain numbers, variances, and issues clearly
Candidates with astrong finance background(FP&A, financial analysis, accounting) andexposure to fleet, leasing, or asset managementare highly encouraged to apply.
