Job Description

GPC Philippines Corporation is currently seeking a Finance & Accounting Analyst.

This position will work from 12:00 am to 9:00 AM PHT and applies only to Philippine-based legal residents and citizens.

Work time will shift to better hours over time.

Job Description 

The Finance and Accounting Analyst is responsible for providing comprehensive accounting and financial analysis support to the Controller, serving as a key contributor across accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting functions. This role is designed for a skilled and motivated junior professional who brings a solid foundation in AP and GL operations alongside working knowledge of financial analysis, and who is eager to grow within a dynamic finance environment. The Finance and Accounting Analyst will assist in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, processing transactions, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close activities. This position also contributes to financial reporting, variance analysis, and ad hoc analytical projects as directed by the Controller, requiring a candidate who is detail-oriented, analytically minded, and capable of managing multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy. A proactive approach, strong communication skills, and the desire to develop professionally within an accounting and finance function are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day accounting and operational support to the Controller across AP, GL, and financial reporting functions
  • Process and review vendor invoices, payments, and expense reports, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely completion
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations including bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts
  • Monitor and maintain general ledger activity, reviewing for accuracy, completeness, and unusual fluctuations
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing reconciliations, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and period-end reporting packages
  • Conduct variance analysis and financial reporting to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas requiring follow-up
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as directed by the Controller
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data across the organization
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned by the Controller

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in accounting or finance with demonstrated hands-on exposure to both AP and GL functions
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles and GAAP
  • Experience with financial analysis including variance analysis, reconciliations, and management reporting
  • Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar platforms is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn with a clear desire to grow within an accounting and finance function
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining close alignment with the Controller on priorities and deliverables
