Schedule: Monday to Friday (07:00 AM to 04:00 PM PHT)
This is a 3-month contract with a strong view to extend, depending on the client's requirements and your performance.
What are we looking for
- 2-4 years experience in a tax, accounting or finance role, ideally with exposure to FBT, GST or other indirect taxes
- Tertiary Degree qualified
- Working knowledge of Australian indirect taxes (eg. FBT, GST) or equivalent
- Strong excel and analytical abilities
- Systems and process improvement experience would be highly regarded
What will you do
- Provide analytical support to the Tax Manager on Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) calculations, reconciliations and reporting.
- Review entertainment expenses to ensure correct FBT and GST treatment and that supporting documentation meets ATO requirements.
- Assist the Tax Manager with tax compliance requirements, including BAS preparation support, GST coding reviews and identification of risks or anomalies.
- Support the preparation of the Fuel Tax Credit (FTC) claim, including data gathering, rate application and substantiation.
- Support FBT documentation gathering, including review of Tax inbox, following up for required information (eg. Logbooks) and maintaining organised records.
- Support process and system improvements to minimise the risk of errors and increase efficiency in indirect tax compliance.
- Assist with collating responses to ATO queries, reviews and audits relating to FBT, GST and FTC.
- Ad hoc support to the Tax Manager and broader Finance team as the need arises, admin, analysis or accounting.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Undertake any additional duties that are within your skill set and are safe to perform, as directed by finance team leaders.
