DEL MONTE PHILIPPINES, INC. is in need of a Field Technician

Work Location: Bukidnon

The Field / Agricultural Technician supports the Papaya Operations Supervisor and Department Manager in implementing company standard operating procedures (SOPs), agricultural programs, and best practices to improve papaya production. The role provides technical assistance to corporate and contract growers through field monitoring, crop evaluation, and training on quality, safety, and Good Agricultural Practices (GGAP). The position coordinates planting, harvesting, delivery scheduling, grower recruitment, and other field operations to ensure production targets are achieved. It also serves as a key liaison between contract growers and Papaya Operations, helping maintain productivity, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct field monitoring and provide technical assistance to papaya growers.
  • Inspect crops for yield, pest, disease, and operational requirements.
  • Train workers on field operations, safety practices, and crop management.
  • Coordinate communication between contract growers and Papaya Operations.
  • Assist in scheduling deliveries and monitoring fruit quality and rejects.
  • Support grower recruitment, land evaluation, and planting programs.
  • Prepare operational reports, production forecasts, and field documentation.
  • Coordinate transportation requirements with service providers.
  • Act as area-in-charge when required and assist in company activities.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

  • At least a High School Graduate or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in farming or agricultural operations.
  • Basic knowledge of crop production and farm management practices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate teams and work effectively with growers and workers.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and reporting abilities.
  • Willing to work in field environments and travel as needed.
