About the Role
As the Field Deployment Manager, you will be the operational lead responsible for the remote project management, coordination, and technical execution of IoT environmental sensor deployments across occupied commercial buildings in the APAC region.
In this 100% remote coordination role (0% mandatory travel), you will bridge the gap between technology and site execution, directing 3rd-party General Contractors, low-voltage installers, facility managers, and enterprise IT teams to ensure flawless, on-time project rollouts per single-building scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Remote Deployment Project Management:
- Oversee and project-manage full-lifecycle physical IoT sensor deployments for enterprise building projects (scoped per single building, ranging from a few devices to several hundred).
- Direct and supervise 3rd-party contractors, installers, and client IT teams—from pre-install preparation through installation and final go-live.
- Blueprint Interpretation & Layout Scoping:
- Read and interpret floor plans, blueprints, and architectural drawings to translate them into precise device and gateway placement layouts.
- Field-Level Network Diagnostics:
- Conduct hands-on technical diagnosis alongside the client's network admin (verifying switch ports, IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, VLAN routing, cabling, and firewall/port whitelisting).
- Stakeholder & Contractor Management:
- Exercise high operational authority to direct installers, verify prerequisites, enforce quality/safety standards, and eliminate on-site friction without scope or timeline delays.
- Operational Readiness & Handover:
- Manage hardware testing, commissioning, logistics tracking, and handover, ensuring every assigned device is installed correctly and reliably reporting clean data to the cloud or BMS.
Role Requirements
- Physical Building Technology Track Record:
- 3+ years of experience deploying physical building technologies into occupied commercial office spaces (e.g., IoT, low-voltage, AV, security systems, telecom, or BMS). (Pure SaaS/Software Project Managers without physical hardware deployment experience will NOT qualify).
- Blueprint & Construction Drawing Proficiency (Must-Have):
- Proven ability to read floor plans, schematic diagrams, and construction drawings for device mapping.
- Field-Level Networking Expertise:
- Practical, diagnostic skills in IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, VLAN routing, switch port testing, cable patching, and firewall rule/port whitelisting.
- High-Authority Contractor & Stakeholder Management:
- Strong track record of directing 3rd-party contractors, General Contractors (GCs), and facility teams across enterprise-level project timelines (ranging from several weeks to months).
- 100% Remote Coordination Capability:
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; comfortable driving complex, multi-stakeholder building rollouts remotely.
