Job Description
Job Summary
The Farm Veterinarian is responsible for safeguarding the health, welfare, and productivity of Spring Valley Farms, an affiliate of U-BIX Corporation, livestock. The role provides preventive, diagnostic, and emergency veterinary care while supporting efficient farm operations, biosecurity, regulatory compliance, and sustainable livestock production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement species-specific health programs for cattle, swine, and goats.
- Conduct routine herd health assessments, physical examinations, and disease surveillance.
- Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, reproductive conditions, and nutritional deficiencies.
- Oversee vaccination, deworming, medication, parasite control, and preventive care programs.
- Support breeding, pregnancy monitoring, birthing, neonatal care, and reproductive health management.
- Establish and enforce biosecurity, quarantine, sanitation, animal welfare, and food-safety protocols.
- Monitor housing, feeding, water supply, ventilation, waste management, and other farm conditions affecting animal health.
- Analyze health and production records to reduce mortality, control disease, and improve livestock performance.
- Collaborate with Farm Specialists on herd planning, livestock movement, stocking levels, and daily farm operations.
- Train all farm personnel on proper animal handling, disease recognition, treatment procedures, and emergency response.
- Manage veterinary medicines, vaccines, equipment, and supply inventories.
- Maintain accurate veterinary records and ensure compliance with applicable animal health and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with a valid professional license.
- Experience in the care and management of cattle, swine, and goats, preferably in a commercial farm setting.
- Strong knowledge of livestock health, reproduction, nutrition, biosecurity, and farm production systems.
- Good leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work on-site in Spring Valley Farms, Negros Oriental. Relocation assistance will be provided
