Job Summary

The Failure Analysis Engineer ensures Advanced Energy products meet customer standards for electrical performance and reliability. The role involves optimizing test parameters and resolving electrical issues during production and customer use. By working closely with factory and Design Engineering teams, FA improves test yields and eliminates line failures. The team fosters continuous improvement, values people, and stays current with power supply technology trends.

Responsibilities

  • Perform product characterization using failure analysis and statistical process control tools.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Conduct thorough failure investigations.
  • Participate in project meetings and design reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional support teams.
  • Guide technicians in troubleshooting for faster turnaround.
  • Work with Test Engineering to optimize test sequences.
  • Coordinate with Design Engineering on design and electrical issues.
  • Analyze test data and monitor defect trends for potential issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Diploma in Electronics also considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in failure analysis of power supplies.
  • Solid understanding of basic electronic circuits.
  • Proficient in using electronic test equipment (e.g., DMM, oscilloscope, LCR meter).
  • Skilled in soldering and circuit troubleshooting.
  • Computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
