Role Description The Faculty Member, Chemistry (Part-Time, Remote) is responsible for designing and delivering undergraduate or graduate chemistry courses through online platforms. This includes preparing syllabi, lectures, learning materials, and assessments aligned with program outcomes and institutional standards. The faculty member facilitates virtual classes, leads discussions, provides timely feedback on student work, and supports learners through regular online consultations. Additional responsibilities may include maintaining accurate grade records, participating in academic meetings as needed, and adhering to university policies on teaching, assessment, and student support.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge in general, organic, inorganic, analytical, and/or physical chemistry, with the ability to teach core and specialized topics effectively.
  • Strong skills in curriculum design, lesson planning, and assessment development for online chemistry courses.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems, virtual classroom tools, and digital resources for remote instruction.
  • Effective communication, mentoring, and classroom management skills, with a student-centered and inclusive teaching approach.
  • Master's degree or higher in Chemistry or a closely related field; teaching or industry experience in chemistry is highly advantageous.
  • Commitment to academic integrity, continuous professional development, and collaboration with colleagues and administrators.

What we are looking for:

A PhD holder or at minimum a master's degree in Chemistry or a closely allied and aligned field.

The ability to teach Inorganic and Organic Chemistry.

At least five (5) years of teaching experience, or equivalent combined experience in the academe.

Chemistry is one of those subjects students decide early on to either fear or fall in love with, and the person standing in front of them usually settles that question. That is why we are deliberate about who we invite into the classroom, even for a part time load.
