This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to anyone with strong research skills and a sharp eye for accuracy. No journalism or professional fact-checking background required — just a methodical approach, healthy skepticism, and a genuine commitment to getting things right.

What You'll Do
- Verify AI-generated statements, statistics, and claims against reliable, authoritative sources
- Flag factual errors, outdated information, and unsupported or misleading claims
- Rate the accuracy and reliability of AI outputs using structured evaluation rubrics
- Document your sources and reasoning clearly for each fact-check decision
- Cover a wide range of topics — from current events and science to history, culture, and technology
- Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments at your own pace
Who You Are
- Strong research skills with the ability to find, evaluate, and cite trustworthy sources
- Naturally skeptical and critical toward unverified or dubious claims
- Detail-oriented with a systematic, consistent approach to evaluating information
- Clear and concise written communicator
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
- No prior journalism, fact-checking, or AI experience required
Nice to Have
- Background in research, journalism, academic writing, or communications
- Experience with information verification, data analysis, or content moderation
- Familiarity with open-source research tools, databases, or fact-checking platforms
- Broad general knowledge across multiple subject areas
