What this job involves:

A Facilities Engineer is responsible for maintaining, operating, and improving building systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal facility performance, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Building Systems Management Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security systems. Monitor facilities maintenance and energy management systems to optimize performance and identify issues before they become critical problems.

Preventive Maintenance Programs Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance schedules for all building equipment and systems. Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranties and service agreements.

Project Management Lead facility improvement projects including space renovations, system upgrades, and equipment replacements. Manage project timelines, budgets, and contractor relationships while ensuring minimal disruption to building operations.

Compliance and Safety Ensure facilities meet all local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Conduct regular inspections, maintain required certifications, and coordinate with regulatory agencies during audits or inspections.

Energy Management Monitor utility consumption, identify energy efficiency opportunities, and implement sustainability initiatives. Analyze energy data to reduce operational costs and support corporate environmental goals.

Emergency Response Respond to facility emergencies including power outages, equipment failures, and environmental issues. Maintain emergency procedures and coordinate with first responders when necessary.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in building operations or facilities management. Knowledge of building systems, codes, and regulations. Strong project management and problem-solving skills. Professional certifications (PE, CFM, FMP) preferred.
