Job Summary
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for leading and executing preventive, corrective, and improvement maintenance across all facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and HVAC. The role ensures reliable equipment performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous operations. It also involves providing technical support, driving system improvements, managing assets and budgets, and optimizing maintenance strategies for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
Facilities Maintenance Management
  • Lead, plan, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for all facility systems (electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and HVAC).
  • Ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability to support continuous business operations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned with industry best practices and operational goals.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, maintenance metrics, and performance reports to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise and mentor maintenance personnel, ensuring adherence to standards, schedules, and safety procedures.

Technical and Engineering Support
  • Provide advanced technical expertise in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis of equipment and system failures.
  • Lead engineering evaluations and implement system upgrades or modifications to improve reliability, energy efficiency, and safety.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, technical specifications, and maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Support cross-functional teams in resolving complex facility and infrastructure-related concerns.

Legal, Regulatory, and Safety Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable local regulations, codes, and safety standards (e.g., electrical, fire protection, occupational safety).
  • Lead safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the maintenance team and across facility operations.

Asset and Documentation Management
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of equipment history, maintenance activities, and asset inventories.
  • Implement and manage a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), if applicable.
  • Oversee spare parts and critical inventory management to ensure availability and minimize downtime.

Budgeting and Cost Optimization
  • Assist in the preparation, planning, and control of the annual maintenance budget.
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives through energy management, preventive maintenance optimization, and process improvements.
  • Evaluate vendor performance, manage service contracts, and negotiate cost-effective agreements.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources without compromising quality and operational reliability.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, mechanical systems, and fire protection systems.
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and asset management.
  • Solid understanding of local regulatory requirements, safety standards, and compliance practices.
  • Experience in using CMMS and maintenance reporting tools is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to supervise and develop technical staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
