Job Description

The Facilities and Pollution Control Engineer plays a key role in ensuring smooth plant operations and strict adherence to safety and environmental standards. This position focuses on implementing preventive and corrective actions to maintain optimal performance of critical facility systems such as refrigeration, electrical power, water supply, sewage treatment, HVAC units, drainage, and surveillance systems. Additionally, the role drives compliance with environmental, health, and safety protocols through robust systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

Preventive Maintenance

  • Reviews and authorizes updates or modifications to preventive maintenance plans.
  • Evaluates current strategies and recommends improvements to meet PM objectives.
  • Develops cost-effective and reliable maintenance execution plans.

Facility Operations

  • Guarantees continuous availability of essential utilities including fuel, electricity, water, and compressed air.
  • Oversees the efficiency and reliability of facility systems and components.
  • Ensures compliance with sanitary, electrical, mechanical, and building regulations.
  • Advises on system upgrades, modifications, or acquisitions to support operational needs.

Environmental & Safety Compliance

  • Identifies gaps against industry benchmarks and regulatory requirements.
  • Formulates policies and procedures to address identified gaps.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives for existing systems and processes.
  • Monitors adherence to company standards on discipline, GMP, food safety, quality, environmental, and safety programs.
  • Manages legal reporting and permit renewals.

Occupational Health & Safety

  • Supports the effectiveness of the OH&S management system.
  • Promotes ongoing improvement of safety programs and activities.
  • Ensures compliance with legal and safety regulations.
  • Conducts hazard identification and risk assessments.
  • Investigates incidents and implements corrective/preventive measures.

Audit & Compliance

  • Performs regular internal audits.
  • Responds to findings from government safety and environmental audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; PRC license preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in supervisory roles and 5 years in plant/facility maintenance and EHS functions.
  • Accredited Pollution Control Officer.
  • Strong background in EHS and engineering maintenance, ideally in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Experience in designing and delivering EHS training programs.
  • Skilled in data analysis and report preparation.
  • Willing to work early shifts and extended hours.
  • Must be amenable to assignment in Santolan, Pasig.

Required Skills

  • Accredited Pollution Control Officer.
  • Strong background in EHS and engineering maintenance.
  • Experience in designing and delivering EHS training programs.
  • Skilled in data analysis and report preparation.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
