Job Description

Brunel has partnered with Incat, a global leader in high-speed aluminium vessel construction, to recruit skilled welders for their operations in Australia.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced trades professionals interested in relocating to Australia and working on world-class shipbuilding projects.

The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for assembling, welding and finishing metal parts for use in construction of Incat vessels. This role is required to inspect the quality and finish of metal parts prior to assembly, interpret blueprints and technical drawings, adhere to safe working procedures, and work in accordance with Incat and DNV standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create welds according to blueprint and technical drawings in accordance with Incat and DNV standards
  • Inspect welds/fabrication for accuracy
  • Operates machinery to make precise cuts, shapes, welds, bends and repairs
  • Prepare components to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel/aluminium parts
  • Any other duties as required within the employee's qualifications and skill set.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant trade qualification (Cert III) and significant demonstrated industry experience

Work Health and Safety

  • Identify and manage the hazards and safety risks associated with all assigned task and jobs
  • Report near misses/accidents
  • Support the introduction of health and safety changes in work area
  • Provide feedback to WHS team to improve workplace safety processes and procedures
  • Adhere to a zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Key Relationships

The Welder/Fabricator will be required to develop and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to:

  • Workplace Health and Safety
  • Human Resources
  • Production staff, including Team Leaders and Works Coordinators

Special Requirements

  • Some work outside of normal business hours may be necessary to fulfil the requirements of this position
