The Qualifications We Seek
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field with an Accounting major
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- 4-5 years of end-to-end external audit experience, preferably at the Supervisor or Assistant Manager level
- Previous external audit experience in a Big Four or leading international audit firm is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience across the full external audit lifecycle, including audit planning, risk assessment, test of controls, substantive testing, completion, and reporting
- Strong knowledge of the Australian Corporations Act, Australian Accounting Standards, Australian Auditing Standards, and other relevant legislation
- Experience managing a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries
- Excellent English communication skills with the ability to present audit findings and engage effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and time management skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple audit engagements while working independently and collaboratively
Preferred
- Experience leading audit teams, reviewing work, mentoring junior auditors, and managing client relationships and audit engagements
Your Daily Tasks
- Lead multiple end-to-end external audit engagements, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Identify and resolve technical accounting and auditing issues throughout the audit lifecycle
- Present key audit findings, risks, and recommendations to partners and stakeholders
- Review financial statements, audit workpapers, reports, and management opinions for compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of audit team members while promoting audit methodology and best practices
- Support client relationship management, business development, and firm growth initiatives
- Coordinate engagement staffing, resource planning, and multiple concurrent audit assignments
