As an Experienced to Senior Fund Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of financial reporting for investment funds. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex fund structures and transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Accounting:
- Creation and ongoing maintenance of portfolio investment master records.
- Processing of trades from centralized and decentralized exchanges.
- Reconciliation of cash, positions, and profit & loss (P&L) across multiple exchanges, wallets, and custodians (sources).
- Valuation of investments across diverse asset classes.
- Fund/Investor Accounting:
- Recording and ensuring fund expenses are accrued timely and in accordance with GAAP.
- Reconciliation of operational bank accounts.
- Calculation of investor-level fees, including management and performance fees.
- Preparation of investor allocations and ensure fees/allocations are booked accurately.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, and portfolio schedules.
- Assist with audits and tax preparation, coordinating with external parties.
- Work with the treasury team to initiate wire transfers for clients.
- Correspond with clients daily and ensure deliverables are prepared/requests are answered in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- 13 years of experience in fund accounting, fund administration, or portfolio accounting.
- Practical experience working with cryptocurrency assets and exposure to hedge funds, crypto funds, or alternative investment vehicles, preferably.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments with changing priorities and ad hoc requests.
- Able to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining precision and consistency.
- Client-service focused, responsive, and proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
- Clear communication for internal stakeholders and investors.
- A collaborative team player who takes ownership of deliverables and values accuracy and accountability.
