Develop and execute customer-centric Engineered-to-Order (ETO) product designs for NEC markets.
Design customized solutions based on specific customer requirements and technical specifications.
Lead and manage end-to-end product design activities, including high-level engineering decisions.
Create and maintain project development plans and ensure timely project execution.
Provide manufacturing support for ETO designs, ensuring feasibility and production readiness.
Prepare and maintain all required technical documentation, including assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
Analyze product specifications and performance requirements to develop optimized design solutions using existing and modified components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Customer Service, Operations, Sourcing, Sales, and external vendors) to meet technical, cost, and timeline requirements.
Ensure designs align with cost targets through design costing and material selection.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting fast turnaround times.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, management, customers, and suppliers regarding project progress and technical requirements.
Provide technical leadership and support for ongoing customer inquiries and engineering concerns.
Maintain and manage engineering data and documentation within CAD and SAP systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field
Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience, preferably in ETO design/order execution within a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in 2D CAD and 3D modeling, with ability to create mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
Experience with ERP and PLM systems
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Experience designing mechanical parts using manufacturing processes such as sand casting, die casting, metal stamping, sheet metal, and machining
Experience supporting unique or quick-turn orders in a manufacturing environment
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D) for parts, assemblies, and schematics
Experience with Enovia and SAP-PLM/Cideon or similar PLM systems
Experience with SAP ERP systems
Knowledge of UL, NEMA, and NEC standards, particularly in power distribution and controls (e.g., UL 50/50E, 508/508A, 1203, 67)
Familiarity with third-party certification requirements (e.g., UL, CSA, ATEX), especially for industrial and hazardous environments
Experience in electrical enclosure design and applications
Knowledge of industrial controls and circuit protection components from various manufacturers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to communicate and collaborate efficiently with offshore colleagues in a virtual environment
Amenable to work in a Hybrid setup reporting to our QC office (Vertis North Corporate Center)
