Job Description

Position: ETL Engineer - Junior

Number of hours: 40 hours / week

Schedule: EST

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines using tools such as Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory, or similar platforms.
  • Support the design and implementation of data mappings, transformations, and workflows to integrate data from multiple sources.
  • Develop and maintain data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Perform unit testing, debugging, and validation of ETL jobs to ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Assist in monitoring scheduled workflows, identifying failures, and resolving basic data integration issues.
  • Support data migration, cleansing, and transformation activities for reporting and analytics initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, mapping specifications, and process documentation.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Database Administrators, and Business Analysts to support project requirements.
  • Follow data governance, security, and ETL development standards.
  • Participate in bug fixes, performance improvements, and simple feature enhancements as assigned.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in ETL development, data integration, database development, or a related role.
  • Basic understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data integration principles.
  • Familiarity with at least one ETL tool such as Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or similar.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and database design principles.
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively under supervision in an Agile development environment.

  • Informatica Certified Professional (Preferred)
