Salary Range: $866 to $1213 per month

In this essential estimating role, you'll play a key part in turning site photos, videos, and blueprints into accurate cost proposals that support the company's plumbing and boiler operations. If you're mechanically curious, meticulous with detail, and excited about learning the logic behind complex plumbing systems, this is a unique opportunity to build your expertise alongside a hands-on leadership team.
What You'll Do:
- Review and analyze boiler room photos, videos, and tags to determine BTU input/output requirements for system upgrades.
- Examine architectural and plumbing plans for custom residential homes to identify all plumbing points (e.g., sinks, toilets, vanities, dishwashers).
- Translate data into detailed material and labor estimates using company templates and training resources.
- Conduct online research and self-training as directed to deepen understanding of mechanical systems and estimation logic.
- Organize job files including specs, equipment details, and site documentation using Google Drive or Dropbox.
- Prepare itemized estimates and upload proposals into QuickBooks (minimal QuickBooks knowledge neededbasic training provided).
- Collaborate with the business owner and partner during afternoon hours (EST) to review, refine, and finalize proposals.
Who You'll Work With:
You'll work directly with the business owner and a close-knit operational team focused on plumbing and heating solutions. You'll be a vital player in producing estimates that inform large-scale installation work and have a measurable impact on the company's success.
Who We're Looking For:
- Plan-Literate: Able to read and interpret architectural, construction, or mechanical plans to develop precise takeoffs.
- Detail-Oriented: Must be capable of catching every plumbing point in a construction planmissing one could cost the company.
- Growth-Oriented: Demonstrates interest in learning new things.
- Math Literate: Good with math and numbers.
- Independent Learner: Comfortable dedicating hours to self-guided study and training materials, especially in the first few months.
- Experience: General work experience is required. Estimating experience in any industry is a plus, especially in plumbing, HVAC, or boiler systems, but not necessary.
- Tech-Friendly: Basic comfort with cloud-based tools (Google Drive, Dropbox) and willingness to learn data entry in QuickBooks.
