Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented
Stone Benchtop Estimator to join an Australian team and support the preparation of accurate domestic quotes for granite, marble, and engineered stone benchtops.
The role will initially focus on simpler domestic projects, with the opportunity to take on a broader scope as your experience and confidence develop. You will work closely with the existing estimating team to manage quoting volume and ensure quotes are accurate, timely, and aligned with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating
- Prepare accurate domestic quotes for granite, marble, and engineered stone benchtops.
- Use the company's proprietary Excel-based estimating tool to calculate project costs.
- Process incoming job requests and purchase orders received via email.
- Review job details and ensure all required information is captured accurately.
- Turn around quotes promptly and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Manage quoting requirements for a portfolio of approximately 60-70 regular domestic clients.
- Work alongside the existing onshore estimating team to support domestic quoting and help free up capacity for commercial projects.
Administration & Communication
- Correspond with clients via Gmail regarding quote details, clarifications, and scheduling.
- Participate in meetings and discussions through Google Meet as required.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised records within the Excel estimating system.
- Support general administrative tasks as directed by the manager.
- Communicate any missing information or issues with job requests promptly.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in granite, marble and stone benchtops is preferred, particularly granite, marble, or engineered stone.
- Experience in estimating, quoting, or pricing within the benchtop or stone industry is highly desirable.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with detailed spreadsheets.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret job specifications and translate requirements into accurate quotes.
- Strong written English communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating with clients through Gmail and Google Meet.
- Ability to manage multiple quoting requests and meet deadlines.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience working with domestic stone benchtop projects.
- Familiarity with granite, marble, and engineered stone products.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Self-directed and able to work independently.
- Proactive approach to managing incoming work and following up on missing information.
- Previous experience working remotely or with Australian clients is an advantage.
