About the Role
We have partnered with a leading Australian company specializing in a full range of fire services, including
design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and testing of fire protection systems. As anEstimator (Fire Systems), you will be responsible for preparing accurate and compliant quotations for dry fire system defects identified by field technicians and recorded in Uptick.
In this role, you will translate inspection, testing, and maintenance data into clear, audit-ready scopes of work aligned with AS 1851, manufacturer requirements, and client expectations. You will work closely with technicians, operations, and account teams to ensure all quoted works are technically sound, commercially accurate, and clearly understood by stakeholders.

What you'll be working on:
Defect Review & Interpretation
- Review dry fire system defects raised by field technicians in Uptick
- Interpret inspection, testing, and maintenance data related to fire detection and alarm systems
- Validate defect descriptions, severity, and compliance requirements
- Clarify incomplete or unclear defect information with technicians prior to pricing
Quotation & Scope Development
- Prepare detailed and itemised quotations for rectification of dry fire defects
- Define clear scopes of work compliant withAS 1851and other relevant Australian Standards
- Ensure accurate inclusion of labour allowances, materials, access requirements, and compliance testing
- Structure quotations to be clear for clients and defensible during audits
Technical Compliance
- Apply working knowledge of dry fire detection and alarm systems, including:
- Conventional and addressable systems
- Detection devices, control panels, interfaces, and power supplies
- Demonstrate familiarity with major fire system manufacturers such as:
- Notifier
- Ampac
- Siemens
- or equivalent platforms
- Ensure all quoted works align with:
- AS 1851 (routine service and maintenance)
- Manufacturer specifications
- Contractual and site-specific requirements
Uptick Quoting & Data Accuracy
- Prepare and manage quotations directly within Uptick
- Ensure quoted works are correctly linked to assets, defects, and sites
- Maintain pricing accuracy using approved products, labour rates, and margins
- Ensure all quotations are complete, consistent, and ready for approval or client submission
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with field technicians to improve defect clarity and reporting quality
- Coordinate with operations and account teams to align scopes with site conditions and access constraints
- Respond to internal or client queries related to scope, compliance, and pricing
Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
- Review completed works against previous estimates to improve pricing accuracy
- Identify recurring defect trends and opportunities for process improvement
- Provide constructive feedback to technicians on defect reporting
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire standards, systems, and products
What were looking for:
- Strong understanding of dry fire detection and alarm systems
- Hands-on experience or solid technical knowledge of systems such as Notifier, Ampac, Siemens, or similar
- Working knowledge of AS 1851 and Australian fire compliance requirements
- Experience using Uptick or similar fire compliance / asset management systems
- Ability to price work accurately based on technical data and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting Australian clients or projects is highly preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication for both internal and external stakeholders for handling reports, audits, and compliance correspondence
- Proactive mindset in maintaining accurate, up-to-date records and documentation and evidence based decision making skills.
- Confidence in following up, enforcing compliance requirements, and escalating risks when needed
- Highly organised, process-driven, and able to manage high-volume documentation and compliance workflows
Preferred:
- Experience in the fire protection, safety, construction, or compliance-related industries
- Willing to work as soon as possible
