About the Role
The Estate Engineer ensures the effective implementation of engineering standards, construction guidelines, and technical requirements across the estate. The role oversees all engineering trades to ensure compliance with approved designs, quality standards, safety regulations, and operational objectives from construction to property operations.
Job Responsibilities
Engineering Governance & Compliance
- Ensure implementation of approved engineering standards, construction guidelines, and technical specifications
- Review engineering drawings, method statements, and material submissions for compliance
- Provide technical guidance to teams, contractors, consultants, and tenants
- Recommend improvements to engineering standards and estate guidelines
Site Monitoring & Trade Coordination
- Monitor all engineering trades (civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, auxiliary systems)
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with approved plans
- Identify non-compliance and coordinate corrective actions
- Participate in inspections during construction, fit-out, testing, commissioning, and turnover
Property Operations Support
- Address engineering issues affecting estate operations, safety, and functionality
- Monitor performance and condition of building systems and infrastructure
- Recommend preventive and corrective maintenance actions
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams
Quality Control & Commissioning
- Ensure proper testing, inspection, and commissioning of engineering systems
- Review test reports, as-built plans, and O&M manuals
- Support snagging, punch listing, and defect rectification
- Establish quality benchmarks and inspection checklists
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with Safety and Security teams on risk management
- Support incident investigations and corrective actions
- Promote safe engineering practices across all activities
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare engineering reports, compliance updates, and performance summaries
- Escalate critical issues to the Estate Manager and leadership
- Coordinate with Estate Architect, Project Management, and Operations teams
- Perform other duties aligned with estate development objectives
Job Qualifications
- Registered Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical)
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related engineering field
- 3–5 years experience in luxury or high-end property/estate development
- Strong knowledge of engineering systems (civil, structural, MEPF)
- Experience in site supervision, quality control, and compliance
- Proficient in AutoCAD; BIM is an advantage
- Knowledge of building codes and safety standards
- Strong coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with high standards for quality and execution
