Job Responsibilities
1. Goods Reception & Logistics
- Cooperate with the logistics team,coordinate port clearance, goods inspection, and inbound logistics; verify delivery against packing list, BOM, and transport damage report; initiate NCR process for any shortfalls or damage
- Supervise on-site storage and handling of battery modules and HV equipment in compliance with CATL storage specifications and local HSE regulations
2.Installation & Pre-Commissioning
- Supervise civil, structural, and electrical installation by local EPC/subcontractor; verify compliance with IFC drawings, single-line diagrams, and cable schedules
- Execute pre-commissioning checks: insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, grounding verification, protection relay settings review, and BMS string configuration validation
3.Commissioning & System Integration
- Lead system commissioning across BMS, PCS, EMS/SCADA layers in multi-vendor environments; verify inter-system communication protocols (Modbus, IEC 61850, DNP3 as applicable)
- Execute FAT/SAT test procedures; document results and manage deviation records against the agreed test plan
- Coordinate and support grid compliance testing (e.g., LVRT/HVRT, frequency response, ramp rate) per local grid code requirements (PLN, NGCP, EGAT, TNB, or equivalent)
4.Acceptance & Handover
- Manage punch list tracking and closure with subcontractors and client; maintain evidence records in support of contractual milestone claims
- Prepare and submit acceptance documentation packages (test reports, as-built records, FAT/SAT sign-off sheets, O&M manuals); drive formal acceptance sign-off with client
- Deliver structured O&M training to client operations staff; verify training completion against contractual obligations
5.Reporting & Coordination
- Provide weekly site progress reports to Delivery Manager, flagging schedule risks, technical deviations, and commercial exposure items (LD risk, variation claims)
- Serve as primary technical interface to client's site representative and system integrator during delivery phase
Job Qualifications
1.Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or Electronics (Master's preferred for sites with grid compliance scope)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on commissioning experience on utility-scale BESS, PV+Storage, or substation projects; candidates with pure UPS/small commercial storage background will not be considered
- Demonstrated experience with at least two of: BMS integration, PCS commissioning, EMS/SCADA configuration, protection relay testing
2.Technical Competencies
- Proficiency in reading electrical drawings: SLDs, cable schedules, protection coordination diagr
- amsFamiliarity with communication protocols used in BESS: Modbus TCP/RTU, IEC 61850, DNP3
- Working knowledge of at least one SEA grid code or utility interconnection standard (PLN, NGCP, EGAT, TNB, or equivalent)
- Competent in data analysis using Excel or equivalent tools; experience with SCADA historian data review is an advantage
- HSE awareness: LOTO procedures, HV electrical safety, working at heights; relevant local certifications a plus
3. Soft Skills & Other Requirements
- Strong on-site coordination capability across multi-party environments (EPC, system integrator, client, utility)
- Structured written reporting habit; capable of producing concise technical deviation records and milestone reports without supervision
- Willingness to be stationed on-site for extended periods (typically 3-6 months per project); travel across SEA required
- English: professional working proficiency (mandatory — primary language for client and contractual communication)
- Mandarin: working proficiency a plus (internal CATL coordination)
- Local SEA language (Bahasa Indonesia/Malaysia, Filipino, Thai, Vietnamese): a plus depending on project country
