Job Description

Job Summary:

The ESG Performance & Reporting Lead will be responsible for managing the end-to-end ESG data lifecycle, driving environmental stewardship initiatives, and ensuring alignment with global ESG frameworks. This role requires a strong presence at the Calaca power plant to gather real-time insights, coordinate with site teams, and implement sustainability programs. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in ESG reporting, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in ESG reporting, environmental management, or sustainability roles.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, IFRS S2) and GHG accounting protocols.
  • Experience working in industrial or energy sectors, preferably in coal or thermal power generation.
  • Proficiency in ESG data platforms and dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, ESG software).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. ESG Data Governance & Reporting

  • Lead the collection, validation, and consolidation of ESG data across multiple site teams.
  • Reconcile conflicting data inputs (e.g., GHG emissions) and ensure timely submission for internal and external reporting.
  • Customize digital platforms for centralized ESG data management, tailored to coal-fired power plant operations.

2. Environmental Stewardship & Decarbonization

  • Design and implement decarbonization initiatives, including tracking KPIs and evaluating performance against targets.
  • Develop monitoring plans for environmental programs (e.g., water reuse), and present impact assessments to senior leadership.
  • Investigate emission anomalies, propose corrective actions, and communicate findings to ESG Technical Working Groups.

3. Social Performance & Community Relations

  • Manage CSR programs in host communities, including stakeholder engagement, feedback mechanisms, and impact measurement.
  • Adapt CSR initiatives based on community feedback and report outcomes to the CSR Steering Committee.

Define and track metrics that reflect community relations success for power plant operations.

4. Technical Frameworks & Protocols

  • Align ESG reporting with global standards such as IFRS S2, UN SDGs, and GHG Protocol (Scopes 1, 2, and 3).
  • Refine methodologies and document ESG accounting processes for audit and review.
  • Mentor site teams on ESG competencies and act as a trainer for reporting and environmental management.

5. Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Coordinate with plant engineers, finance, ComRel, and corporate ESG teams to ensure reporting alignment.
  • Handle high-pressure situations involving data scrutiny from senior leadership with professionalism and transparency.
  • Tailor ESG communications for both technical and non-technical audiences.

6. Leadership, Training & Capacity Building

  • Develop training materials and lead ESG workshops for site and corporate teams.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and ESG awareness across departments.

7. On-Site vs. Corporate Coordination

  • Maintain productivity across split-location schedules, leveraging digital tools and structured routines.
  • Prioritize on-site interactions for real-time ESG insights and operational alignment.

8. Innovation & Process Improvement

  • Automate ESG workflows and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Design dashboards and KPI trackers for plant-level ESG performance monitoring.

9. Scenario Management

  • Lead resolution of critical ESG data discrepancies under tight deadlines, including stakeholder coordination, escalation protocols, and quality assurance.
