about the job

We are seeking an Equity Research Analyst with a good focus on Asian Semiconductor & Technology coverage. In this position, you will be responsible for driving alpha generation through deep, fundamental research across the Asia-Pacific tech supply chain.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive, bottom-up fundamental research on companies across the Asian semiconductor value chain (including Compute, Foundry, Networking, WFE, and IP/Design) and broader TMT sectors.

  • Building and maintaining proprietary financial models, valuation frameworks, and industry tracking models (e.g., monitoring supply chain dynamics, export data, capacity utilization, and pricing trends).

  • Executing thorough commercial due diligence, including channel checks, supply chain validation, and analyzing technological shifts or attach rates.

  • Generating high-conviction, actionable investment recommendations (long and short) and presenting them to the Portfolio Manager and CIO.

  • Identifying key industry turning points and potential catalysts, actively contributing to portfolio construction and risk management strategies.

skills and experience required

  • Ideally 5+ years of rigorous fundamental investment experience, ideally encompassing public equity research (buy-side or top-tier sell-side).

  • A proven track record of deep, independent coverage within the global or Asian semiconductor/hardware sectors, demonstrating a nuanced understanding of industry sub-sectors and supply chain intricacies.

  • Exceptional financial modeling skills and experience building proprietary industry tracking frameworks.

  • Strong analytical rigor, with the ability to synthesize complex technical data into clear, actionable investment theses.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of defending ideas concisely to senior decision-makers.

  • A strong academic foundation, preferably with a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or Economics from a recognised university. Advanced degrees or relevant technical backgrounds are highly advantageous.
