We are seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer to drive the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions that enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and operational performance. This role will lead automation initiatives from concept through deployment while working closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver innovative manufacturing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Design & Development
- Design, develop, and deploy automated manufacturing and testing solutions.
- Create automation and equipment concepts that improve productivity, reduce operational costs, and support new product introduction.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to implement innovative automation solutions.
- Develop system specifications, functional requirements, and technical documentation.
Project Management & Implementation
- Lead automation projects from initial concept through implementation, validation, and production release.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers and external partners to achieve project objectives and timelines.
- Conduct design reviews and technical assessments throughout project phases.
Process Improvement & Operational Support
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, equipment reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve automation and equipment-related challenges.
- Plan and execute structured experiments, analyze results, and recommend process enhancements.
- Support preventive maintenance and reliability activities for automated production equipment.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in electronics, automated, or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience in automation architecture, equipment integration, process automation, and design-for-manufacturing methodologies.
- Proven experience leading automation or equipment-related projects from development to implementation.
- Strong continuous improvement background focused on productivity, quality, and operational excellence.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of industrial automation technologies, including: PLCs, HMIs, Robotics, Test Automation, Machine Vision/Vision Systems, Sensors, MES Platforms, Industry 4.0 Technologies
- Familiarity with DOE, DFMEA, PFMEA, and structured NPI processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with CAD software; SolidWorks experience is an advantage.
