Job Summary
The Environmental Protection and Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and securing regulatory permits for the company's mining projects. The role coordinates with government agencies, monitors compliance with environmental laws, and provides technical support on environmental protection, permitting, and mine rehabilitation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geology, Geological Engineering, Forestry, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental management, permitting, or regulatory compliance.
- Experience working with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) and/or a mining company is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine environmental and mining laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, technical writing, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage environmental permits and ensure compliance with environmental regulations for mining projects.
- Coordinate with the DENR, MGB, EMB, LGUs, and other government agencies.
- Review Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Management Plans (EMP), rehabilitation plans, and other technical documents.
- Monitor compliance with permit conditions and applicable environmental laws.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
- Provide technical guidance on environmental protection, mine rehabilitation, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in addressing environmental compliance issues and responding to government inspections or notices.
