About The Job Environmental Officer
About the role
Responsible in ensuring that the yard is in order, hazardous materials stored and controlled, all types of waste and scrap are segregated and regularly disposed of, and all the internal and legal environmental obligations are complied.
Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implement, execute, report, and continually improve the HSE internal audit and workplace inspection program, Hazardous Materials and waste management
- Compliance to Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Regulatory compliance including provision of changes/updates of issuances/orders and its business impact
- HSE Management System audits
- QMS Compliance
- Information, education, and communication program including but not limited to hazard identification, assessment, and control implementation.
- Implement, execute, report, and continually improve the Spill Prevention and Management, conduct of spill drill, etc.
- Introduce improvement initiatives related to Environment
Essential
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
- At least 1 year experience as PCO/Environmental officer or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of DENR, PEZA and other government agency regulatory requirements
- Exhibit professionalism in all dealing with all stakeholders.
- Ability to respond to any emergency cases and implement effective spill response team.
- Good time-management, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent attendance and punctuality record
- Understands community responder (police, fire, etc.) organizational structure and can work within that structure during an event of emergency or spill.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to diplomatically handle stressful situations.
- Ensure the highest levels of integrity, conducting business always, in an ethical manner.
- Ability to understand environmental regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to identify and manage important issues and problems effectively.
Desirable
- 40-hour Basic Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Training
- Have attended Fire Brigade and Emergency Response training
- ISO45001 / ISO 14001 trainings
- Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) training
