Job Description

About the Role

  • Contract: Initial 12 months, with possible subsequent extensions of 1 to 2 years subject to project requirements, performance, and approval
  • Target start: Nov 2026
  • Location: Project office, followed by supplier locations and project site as required (Singapore/ Malaysia)

Lead and coordinate Environment, Health and Safety management for the project. Translate contractual, legal, project and company requirements into an effective project EHS system that enables safe execution, transparent assurance and continual improvement across project and contractor interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Lead EHS governance: Establish and maintain the Project EHS Plan, objectives, responsibilities, reporting and assurance arrangements; integrate EHS into project planning and change management.
  • Assure compliance: Coordinate applicable, contractual, project and legal requirements; manage project, supplier and subcontractor EHS interfaces.
  • Manage risk and incidents: Coordinate risk assessments, emergency preparedness, incident reporting and investigations; verify effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor performance: Plan inspections and audits, monitor agreed indicators and actions, escalate deviations, and provide decision-ready EHS reporting.
  • Build capability and culture: Promote Zero Harm, Stop Work responsibility, workforce engagement and learning; define competency needs and coach project and site personnel.

Responsibilities – Key Accountabilities and Deliverables

  • Prepare, implement and maintain the Project EHS Plan, EHS requirements register, risk register and action tracking.
  • Review supplier and subcontractor EHS plans, competencies, risk assessments, method statements and emergency arrangements.
  • Coordinate EHS oversight for applicable construction, installation, commissioning, logistics, testing, FAT and site activities.
  • Lead or coordinate incident investigations, inspections, audits and management reviews; verify timely and effective action closure.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly EHS reports and provide advice to the Project Manager and project leadership.
  • Lead EHS meetings, inductions, campaigns, lessons learned and external interfaces within approved governance.

Responsibilities – Authority

  • Stop or suspend work where there is imminent danger, critical deviation or unacceptable EHS risk.
  • Escalate significant EHS matters directly to the Project Manager and responsible EHS management.
  • Require immediate controls and corrective actions within the agreed contractual and governance framework.

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree or recognized tertiary qualification in occupational safety, engineering, environmental science or a related discipline.
  • Qualifications: Recognized EHS qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma, NEBOSH IGC with substantial relevant experience, or accepted equivalent.
  • ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 auditor and formal Incident-investigation training preferred.
  • Experience: Substantial EHS experience in complex industrial projects; EPC, construction, commissioning, power generation, rotating equipment or oil and gas experience strongly preferred.

Required Skills

  • Technical skills: EHS management systems, legal and contractual compliance, risk assessment, contractor management, incident investigation, emergency preparedness, auditing and KPI reporting.
  • Mobility: Ability to travel and work at project, supplier, fabrication and site locations as required. Statutory appointments, work authorization, medical fitness and project-mandated competencies remain subject to confirmation before mobilization.

Required Skills – Mandatory profile

  • Relevant degree or tertiary qualification.
  • Recognized EHS qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma, NEBOSH IGC with substantial relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • Substantial EHS experience in complex industrial projects.
  • Strong EHS systems, compliance, risk-management, contractor-management, incident-investigation, emergency-response, auditing, and reporting capability.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work across the assigned project locations. EPC, construction, commissioning, power-generation, rotating-equipment, and oil-and-gas experience are strongly preferred.
  • ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 auditor qualification and formal incident-investigation training are also preferred.
